Patsy’s dream comes true. Uniting Communities for Football (UCFF)

Patsy Andrews had a dream, read about this very impressive woman on the article below

After 20 years as a grassroots football referee my dream was to encourage more people to become referees. #dreams
March 2022, I decided enough was enough, I was fed up with not seeing enough diversity of referees. So, I set my plan into motion to recruit and support officials from Black and Brown Heritage.
We put on my first event under the name of Uniting Communities for Football (UCFF). Sadly, not everyone could understand why I made the decision to focus on my community, I was called a
racist, made to feel like a nobody, many people did not want to support me because of this. 😞 🤷🏿‍♀️ #nevergiveup

Following our event in June 2022, we raised funds for new referees to complete the Basic Referee Training. UCFF presentation took place on 28th November 2022, the evening was dedicated to Salima, Yoshimi, Stephanie, Kathryn, Karen and Neuza who have made history officiating at the Qatar World Cup 2022. ✊🏿 ❤ #rolemodels #inspriation
UCFF made history also, we recruited 20 referees who will receive additional support from Kick It Out, BAM Referee Support and  Ref Support UK. My aim is that no referee is left unsupported. Something I missed out on, a Black Female who dared to step out of her comfort zone.  🙋🏿‍♀️ #strength

UCFF will continue, our young people deserve to see diversity within
football, officiating should also be a part of this. 👏🏿
