We welcome the PGMOL’s statement on the behaviour of Jurgen Klopp at yesterday’s Liverpool v Tottenham game at Anfield and their swift release of a public statement of support.
The behaviour of some managers on the touch line is disgraceful and has been for decades yet The Leagues Manager Association (LMA) appear to say and do nothing to address the problem. They never publicly condemn such behaviour.
It is therefore fair to ask, why do the LMA exist?
Where are their public statements on unacceptable behaviour by their members?
They appear to do nothing to address the behaviour of their members whose actions are mimicked at grassroots level by managers and spectators where children are refereeing and have to deal with this replicated behaviour.
Their silence is shameless and gives the perception that they condone such behaviour.
It’s time for The LMA, as a major stakeholder in the game, to step up and stop their silence on this huge problem in the game.”
