So we are getting to the pivotal stage of our seasons now where cup final appointments are being made and released, and we just wanted to say Well done to all who have been appointed one or even more than one! Go out do your best and work brilliantly and to the best of your abilities in your teams of 3 or even 4 if you are lucky enough to have a fourth official.
To those who haven’t got a Cup Final it’s simple- don’t worry.
The cup finals will come one day and although they are brilliant to be appointed to when you think how many referees are in a league their just simply isn’t enough cup finals to go round sadly. However like we said don’t worry they will come, keep putting in hard work, look forward to the 2018/19 season and try your absolute best and they will come.
I remember my first ever open age cup final, not that I could forget it! It was the 9/5/15 coincidentally the day my son was born! It was a scorching hot summers day the game was being played at Altrincham FC, my referee secretary rang me the morning of the game and said “Ryan would you like to come off the game, everyone will understand” Ryan being Ryan said “noo I will be there” dashed from the hospital refereed the game which went brilliantly and then after a quick drink of Champagne with the winning teams players I dashed back to the hospital and met my son for the first time!… I will never forget that day.
The point is whether it’s your first, second or even third+ Cup Final they are unforgettable.
